Teaching English: How to Plan a Great Lesson

I have participated in several courses online, in different platforms, as Coursera, Edx, in Universities as Yale or Harvard, and in Future Learn I have had the best experience. Because, you send weekly our reminders. This particular course has been so interesting because it has a very engaged teacher, who is Claire, and it is very important to listen to her and read her when she answers, clarifies and question us as students.
The only one thing that I'd like to improve is that the time of the course is not 9 hours at all. I'd like to have a Certificate that proves more accuretely the time we spend on the courses. I spend at least 9 hours weekly reading, writing, watching videos, and that is now that I don´t have to go to the dictionary to look up for words that I don´t know the meaning or the spelling as students with lower level of English need to do or as I had to do it in the past.
Thak you so much teacher Claire to be such an engaged teacher with so many students at the time. And thank you all teachers.

The most remarkable aspect about this course is that it is eminently practical.

First of all you are introduced on the idea of approaching your students taking into account their different needs, interests, circumstances, ages, etc., in order to create rapport with them, which will allow you to create a good atmosphere in the classroom and this will motivate them to approach your subject with interest and curiosity.

The course then moves on to show and explain a wide variety of ideas, links, resources and practical information to put in practice when planning your lessons.

The comments from the rest of the students are always enlightening and a great way to circulate valuable information amongst colleagues.

I would recommend this course to anyone interested in getting fresh ideas for their lesson plans and in learning new and attractive activities for their daily classes.

This course became a real good new start to be back into teaching after a pause with my own children. I could find here many new ideas and tools for teaching, useful links for teaching resourses, interesting lessons videos and further discussion with many collegues from all over the world. I liked the feedback from our tutors and many additional information after each step. And what was really important for me that the course was a real big work for many hours and days when I had to think over each step, write a report-comment, learn other coments, save lots of materials for my further teaching. As a result now I feel more confident and eager to teach more and to start new groups, maybe try other ages and new for me online teaching. I'm glad that among different courses I've chosen the "How to plan a great lesson".

I'm Sagir from Bangladesh.
My teaching career is not very long. Hardly 2 and a half years. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have joined during the COVID-19 pandemic. After joining the school, I didn't get a chance to take class for 17 months. That means our students were out of school for 17 months. As a result, they have forgotten almost everything. Specially who are in class 1, 2 or 3 are suffering the most.
I teach English along with science. When I started, I found that, I have been failing to fill their gap and my students have been failing to get my point. I did my graduation and post-graduation from Institute of Education and Research, University of Dhaka. However, I forget most of my learning because of all most 8 years gap between my post-graduation and teaching. This course has given me a chance to recall my knowledge and learn a lot of new things. After taking the course, now I can say, I'm an organized English teacher.
